December 18, 2017. It was a merry day to celebrate Christmas with the CSU family. The CSU- Sanchez Gymnasium was filled with fun and laughter, and all sorts of merriment when the CSU family celebrated its family day con Christmas party.
The chillax and cool celebration started at 4 in the afternoon and onwards.CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso opened it with a meaningful message, “Just love, love is the reason why we celebrate Christmas. It is by the love of God that He gave His only begotten son to redeem us.”
Dr. Penaso emphasized that Christmas is not just about giving and receiving of gifts or getting bonuses; it is about Jesus Chris. He added that in giving love, do not expect something in return; love everyone, even the most unlovable. “Do not just love, be the love, and spread the love.”
Everyone enjoyed sharing the fun and laughter through songs, dances, chats, and games. Dr. Penaso with Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rolando N. Paluga, Dr. Felix R. Ocarez, and Dr. Jayrold P. Arcede who formed the Quadrants sang a Christmas medley to the delight of the crowd. They had their debut as a singing group during the CSU Intramurals last September.
Other dazzling performances came from the different colleges including the Administration group led by Vice President for Administration, Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno, and Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Rowena P. Varela and all other Deans leading the colleges.
A prayer for peace and unity led by Dr. Paluga was also offered not just for CSU but for the country, and the whole world. Justice for the slain PASUC President Ricardo Rotoras was also included in the prayer. Candles were lighted and a moment of silence was observed. Then, the feast, eating, bingeing, and merriment continued. LMC/piaea
