The Center for Research in Environmental Management and Eco-governance headed by its director Dr. Romell A. Seronay and his staff gave school supplies to pupils in Panlabuhan Elementary School, Sitio Panlabuhan, Loreto, Agusan Del Sur last February 23, 2018.
The Department of Biology spearheaded by Dr. Leila Ombat conducted a 4-day training course to the Department of Education teachers last November 22-25, 2017 in Caraga State University. Fifty Science teachers in the high school and elementary participated the training.The purpose of the training was to build the capability of the teachers on practical work approach in teaching science thru the conduct of field and laboratory work. This was also done to achieve the goals of performance or outcomes-based education for the participants in their research activity.
Fourteen (14)Caraga State University (CSU) faculty members from the different colleges were trained on Cleaner Production Technology (CPT) last September 11-13, 2017 at the Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City. The training was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology –Caraga Region which aims to capacitate local pool of consultants and create a CPT team in the region.
The Caraga Environmental Advocate Society (CEAS), a program-based student organization of Caraga State University conducted the project “BalikEskwelaPahalipay 2017” in Dalao-an Elementary School, Brgy. Rizal, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte on June 5, 2017. A total of 140 elementary students from grade 1 to 6 were given school supplies, like paper, pencil, crayons, plastic envelope, two notebooks and a slipper.
Thirty-six students from the masters and PhD programs in Science Education (Biology and Physical Science) participated in the 2-day “Seminar on Education-Research-Industry Nexus: Advances and Techniques in the 21st Century”, which was held on May 6-7, 2017 at the CSU Conference Hall, Ampayon, Butuan City. The seminar was opened by Dr. Natividad R. Mamaoag, Graduate School Dean.
