CSU Biology Faculty Trains DepEd Teachers

The Department of Biology spearheaded by Dr. Leila Ombat conducted a 4-day training course to the Department of Education teachers last November 22-25, 2017 in Caraga State University. Fifty Science teachers in the high school and elementary participated the training.The purpose of the training was to build the capability of the teachers on practical work approach in teaching science thru the conduct of field and laboratory work. This was also done to achieve the goals of performance or outcomes-based education for the participants in their research activity.

Two Visiting Professors from overseas academic institutions, Prof. Ludwig Paul Ary Evert Streit of Bielefeld University in Germany and Prof. Youcef Mammeri of the University of Picardie Jules Verne in France, delivered a lecture and presented opportunities for future engagements in a collaborative research in Caraga State University, this year.

CSU Faculty Upskill on Cleaner Production Technology

Fourteen (14)Caraga State University (CSU) faculty members from the different colleges were trained on Cleaner Production Technology (CPT) last September 11-13, 2017 at the Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City. The training was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology –Caraga Region which aims to capacitate local pool of consultants and create a CPT team in the region.

VPAA Paluga Trains in Canada

Vice President Dr. Rolando N. Paluga attended a strategic planning training program called the Internationalization of Higher Education in the Philippines sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Canadian Bureau of Internationalization (CBIE) on June 24 to July 21, 2017 in three metropolitan cities in Canada namely Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto.

Math Faculty Presents Research Paper In Japan

Ms. Karen B. Burdeos a faculty member of the mathematics department, College of Arts and Sciences presented a paper entitled “Climate Change Scenarios for Surface Temperature in Agusan del Norte, Philippines using a Statistical Downscaling Technique, during the 13th International Conference Inter University Cooperation Program held at University of Miyazaki, Japan on July 8-12, 2017.
