The Caraga State University GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) through the Office of Gender and Development conducted a webinar on Women Empowerment and Gender Equality: Understanding Each Other, Coming Together, from the other side on March 17, 2022. The webinar was attended by a number of CSU employees.
The Annual National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) endeavors to highlight the gains achieved for women and girls, assess actions towards gender equality, and look forward to steps that must be taken to ensure progress in empowering women.
CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso in his inspirational message emphasized the significance of gender empowerment, and brought to the fore the notable contributions of women in the university, in professional fields, and in society as a whole.
Dr. Maria Olivia D. Bating from the Counseling Department and Retainer Counseling Supervisor of Caraga State University gave a talk on Understanding Each Other, Coming Together, from the other side. She noted that God made men and women quaint in many ways. Both men and women think differently, process emotions in various ways, make decisions from their own perspectives, and learn in diverse ways. Nonetheless, men and women complement one another so beautifully that a healthy relationship makes both partners feel complete and relevant.
The webinar enlightened the participants to be more accepting and understanding of human beings’ individuality and to respect individual differences between male and female. Indicating the fact that we are all precious in the eyes of our creator, and that we are all made for a purpose. GAD/pico
