Marking a significant step in the strengthened internationalization collaboration, Caraga State University participated in the 2nd International Workshop on Intelligent Computing hosted by Far East University in Korea on June 4-5, 2024.
Far East University President Ryu Ki-il and AI Computer Engineering Department Head Professor Ye Chulsoo graced the event, which featured key speakers from CSU, including Professor Michelle V. Japitana, who shared insights on remote sensing technologies to address urban heat island effects, and Professor Rudolph Joshua U. Candare who presented future perspectives in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotics.
The collaboration between the two institutions was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding in 2023, which, according to Professor Ye Chul-soo, “allowed the two to share research statuses focusing on computer vision and remote sensing and discuss future collaborative research opportunities.”
The collaboration aligns with CSU's LIKHA Agenda on Interdependence and High Impact Coalitions and its aim for international accreditation. As a research-oriented university with 18 research and development centers, the said partnership is expected to yield substantial advancements in intelligent computing and image processing.
