Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, the new President of Caraga State University and Dr. Anthony M. Penaso former CSU President, currently Bohol Islands State University (BISU) President, serendipitously met during the 6th Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Summit, Philippines Startup Week 2022 @ Blue Leaf Events Pavilion, MacKinley Hill Village, Taguig City, Metro Manila on October 16, 2022.
The two SUC Presidents’ meeting was so nostalgic and warm. They did not only shake hands but hugged each other like brothers who did not see each other in a long while. Like any true leader their actions inspire others to dream more, do more, learn more and become more. Leaders motivate others to achieve something new and better indeed. Dr. Daguil’s team include, TBI Manager Melbert R. Bonotan and Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO) Director, Engr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa.
The TBI Summit is an annual conference that brings together all the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-funded incubators together with other government innovation agencies, private incubators, innovators, and some international incubator managers to foster collaboration and discuss emerging issues and challenges of the startups and the startup community.
Now on its 6th year, this year’s TBI Summit theme is “Homegrown Heroes: Incubating Future Tech Giants” which will highlight the launching of the 2022 Higher Education Institution Readiness for Innovation and Technopreneurship (HEIRIT) Program and featured keynote messages and panel discussions with different startups and startup enablers.
The TBI Summit was brought to the people by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) to celebrate Filipino ingenuity and key stakeholders who continuously work together to scale the PH startup scene.
