The Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension (OVPRE), through its Publication Unit trained forty-four (44) young and budding researchers in writing for journal publication. The training was done through the ‘Writeshop and Coaching Series on Crafting Publishable Research Papers’ conducted on June 20-22, and June 27-29, 2018 at Sarnimian Inland Resort Corporation, Rosario, Agusan del Sur. The two-week activity was designed to capacitate CSU researchers, faculty and staff on the techniques in crafting and packaging research results into a publishable paper.
The first part of the series of training, June 20-22, 2018, was attended by affiliates from the Center for Robotics, Automation & Fabrication Technologies (CRAFT), Caraga Center for Geo-Informatics (CCGeo), Center for Renewable Energy and Alternative Technologies (CREATE), College of Education (CEd) and Action towards Greater Advancement of Knowledge (AGAK).
Dr.Miraluna L. Herrera, Dean of CEd, AGAK Center Chief and Associate Editor of jASSH, opened the program by highlighting the journey of jASSH since its conception until recent and to its goal of being Scopus indexed. Seronay, Managing Editor of jASSH and CRÈME Center Chief, clarified issues raised by the Engineering and IT group in revising their papers. The coaching session produced twenty-five(25) papers ready for publication. The OVPRE hoped to enliven the CSU research publication by addressingthe challenges in publishing research papers from among the CSU researchers, faculty and staff. Through coaching, outputs of the centers will be communicated to users, thereby, advancing CSU’s research, development, and innovation. ovpre/piaea
