CSUFA Holds Virtual Annual General Assembly; Inducts New Members

The Caraga State University Faculty Association (CSUFA) held its virtual annual general assembly on February 9, 2022. The assembly was facilitated by CSUFA President, Dr.  Alexander Demetillo together with the officers of the Caraga State University Faculty Association; 272 faculty members attended the virtual annual general assembly via Zoom. CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. The Caraga State University Faculty Association (CSUFA) held its virtual annual general assembly on February 9, 2022. The assembly was facilitated by CSUFA President, Dr.  Alexander Demetillo together with the officers of the Caraga State University Faculty Association; 272 faculty members attended the virtual annual general assembly via Zoom.

CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso gave the inspirational message. “As members of the association, you have the responsibility to always prioritize the welfare of the institution’s stakeholders particularly, the faculty members. The best legacy of any organization is consistency and compassion. Both of these qualities should have to emanate from the leader and cascaded to the members,” President Penaso remarked.

Included in the agenda of the FA assembly were the president’s accomplishment report, association treasurer’s audited financial report, briefer on the current FA activities and plans for 2022, oath-taking of new members, recognition for past FA officers, presentation of IGPs for deliberation: rice production and CSU-FA water refilling station and other matters.

FA Vice President, Dr. Jaymer Jayoma expedited the induction of the 24 new FA members. The total number of FA members has increased to 10.8%, which now have a total of 272.

CSUFA President, Dr. Demetillo presented the association’s accomplishment report vis-à-vis the objectives stated in the Annual Implementation Plan of the association. He noted the FA’s detest to the new NBC 461 instrument for the reclassification of faculty positions for the Cycle 8 evaluation. He pointed out the effort of the FA in giving aid to faculty members who were afflicted by severe COVID-19 condition, and those heavily affected by Typhoon Odette.

Moreover, Prof. Rodel Pasion and Dr. Junrie Matias presented the Income Generating Project proposals. Majority of the members agreed that proponents must craft business plans for the small to medium-scale and full-blown business proposals for the large-scale projects.

Sarmiento (CoFES) Auditor, Tomas Austral, Ph.D. (CAA) Business Manager, Desiree Gonzales (CHaSS) Treasurer; the College Representatives: Jhonny Bolongaita (CHaSS), Henson Dejarme (CMNS), Junrie Matias, DIT (CCIS), Leo L. Codilla, Jr. (CEd), Rodel G. Pasion (CoFES), Rowena P. Varela, Ph.D. (CAA), and Engr. Lorie Cris S. Asube (CEGS). The officers will serve until CY 2023.TEC/pico
