The university has a l7-year-old Biodiversity Demonstration Forest used for instruction and tourism. The forest is about 2 hectares wide which showcases Philippine Dipterocarp species.
Conservation of the Philippine Indigenous tree species is the major goal of the Rainforestation Farming project of the Caraga Center for Environmental Studies and Management (CCESM). More than 300 trees comprising around 10 dipterocarp tree species were planted 17 years ago in the 2-hectares Rainforestation Farming area located within the university campus. The Rainforestation area is maintained by the forestry and environmental science students which also serves as their laboratory area.
