TODAY, October 16 – Caraga State University’s College of Education (CEd) and the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO) have formalized their collaboration on two knowledge transfer projects by signing Memoranda of Agreement at the Office of the President.
The first project, Scaffolding Communities through Asset-oriented, Future-proof, and Foresight-based Opportunities for Lifelong Learning and Development in Caraga (SCAFFOLD Caraga), provides select PNP officers with the training and specialized knowledge needed for context-specific activities with Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and other marginalized groups in the region. CEd faculty researchers will also develop training modules, workshops, and other initiatives tailored to the needs of the target participants.
The second project, Amplifying Creative Thinking through Innovative Education in Caraga (ACTIvE Caraga), contributes to the collaboration by designing activities to enhance the critical and creative problem-solving skills of the target participants and other vulnerable sectors. The training shall inspire a mindset of innovation and adaptability, which will be crucial for addressing complex community challenges.
PCOL April Mark C. Young, Acting Provincial Director of the Agusan del Norte Provincial Police Office (ADNPPO), emphasized that this partnership will increase academic, technical, and vocational opportunities for individuals in remote areas of Caraga. The projects will also help improve the skills and capabilities of ADNPPO personnel as they extend their services to these communities.
Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, CSU President, expressed his admiration for CEd’s efforts in launching the projects and highlighted the importance of extending lifelong learning opportunities to uniformed personnel. He also advocated for the development of educational programs for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) to enhance their quality of life and provide growth opportunities.
Present at the signing were CEd Dean and SCAFFOLD Caraga Project Leader Dr. Leo L. Codilla, Jr., ACTIvE Caraga Project Leader Myron T. Cubillan, MAEd, Agusan del Norte Board Member and Chairperson of the Provincial Advisory Group, Hon. Dick Victor B. Carmona, CEd faculty, and other witnesses from both parties.
