CSU being a partner of the National Greening Program (NGP) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Ecosystems and Research and Development Bureau (DENR-ERDB) was invited to participate in the discussion on the National Greening Program with the State Universities and Colleges Presidents of the Philippines.
Dr. Anthony M. Penaso participated along with other university and college presidents on March 11-14, 2015 at the Western La Corona Hotel, Ermita Manila. President Penaso shared the CSU accomplishment on research and development (R&D) relative to the operationalization and implementation of the Clonal Nursery Project.
Generally, the conference focused on the implementation of the National Greening Program (NGP) all over the country, particularly the Production of Quality Planting Materials (PQPM) for the Fiscal Year 2015. Included in the discussion were the strategies to be implemented to improve the operation of the Clonal nurseries and coordination with the respective DENR field offices (Regional Offices, PENROs and CENROs)
Moreover, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso who is an active member of the JICA Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) also joined his fellow JAAP Alumni in the 2nd annual General Assembly of the Japan International Cooperating Agencies-JICA Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) on March 15, 2015 at the Asia Pacific College, Magallanes, Makati. The assembly was a venue for CSU President Penaso to network, link and collaborate to the other member agencies for CSU.
